Hackettstown BID businesses wishing to participate will create a scarecrow to be displayed outside their business. Please notify the HBID no later than October 1, 2024 with your design idea. Scarecrows need to be in place by October 7, and removed by November 8.
THEME: HALLOWEEN COSTUME
BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN. Every scarecrow must contain the basic characteristics of a traditional scarecrow, which include stuffing or hay that protrudes out of the hands, head, feet, and neck. It cannot just be a mannequin in a costume!

10/1 – The Hackettstown BID must be notify by the participating businesses of their scarecrow design via email socialmedia@hackettstownbid.com
10/7 – All Scarecrows placed in front of participating businesses
10/9–Selfie Contest begins; Scarecrow Selfie Contest open to the public-Visitors are invited to take a “Selfie” with a scarecrow and email to socialmedia@hackettstownbid.com. Winner will receive BID BUCKS.(to be used in any participating Hackettstown Business)
