St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The 15th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade is Sunday, March 10, 2024. This Irish-American tradition attracts more than 14,000 visitors—making this parade one of the biggest events in Hackettstown. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kick off at 3:30 pm with numerous participants including Irish dance groups, Irish bands, community groups, bagpipes and drums, Centenary University and Hackettstown High School teams and clubs, Surrounding area fire departments and rescue squads, as well as hometown favorites Junior and Senior Colonial Musketeers and the Hackettstown Community Band. The parade takes place on Main Street.

The parade is pet-friendly, with a special pet Irish Costume Contest sponsored by Doggie Styleash. Judging will be held at Czig Meister Brewing, located at 106 Valentine St. starting at 3:30 pm sharp. Pets will then be invited to walk the parade after judging.

The Hackettstown Business Improvement District kicks off the Parade weekend with a Grand Marshal Reception to honor 2024 St. Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshal, Lt. Darren Tynan! The reception dinner features a live performance by Rory O’Moore School of Pipes and Drums and a dance performance by Slattery School of Irish Dance.

Parade Registration

Be advised that on Sunday, March 10th Route 46 (Main St) between Liberty St and Warren St, Route 182 (Mountain Ave) between Route 46 (Main St) and Victoria Lane and Route 517 (High St) between Route 46 (Main St) and Franklin St will be closed at approximately 3:15 p.m. for the St Patrick’s parade.

Several side streets leading to the parade route will be closed starting at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Police officers will be on scene directing traffic around the road closure.

There will also be NO PARKING/TOW AWAY ZONES on the following streets starting at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10th:

•Route 46 (Main St) between Grand Ave and Warren St

•Washington St between Church St and Valentine St.

•Franklin St between Liberty St and Route 517 (High St)

•Liberty St between Route 46 and Franklin St

•Valentine St between Route 46 (Main St) and Beatty St.

•Washington St between Warren St and Bells Lane.

•Victoria Lane between Route 182 (Mountain Ave) and Mitchell Rd.

•Bells Lane between Route 182 (Mountain Ave) and Washington St.

Any vehicles parked in any of those areas will be ticketed and towed.

Parking is available in any of the municipal parking lots and on many side streets.
