Hackettstown, NJ—The Hackettstown Business Improvement District is bringing the 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade to town, Sunday, March 10, 2019. This Irish-American tradition attracts more than 14,000 visitors—making this parade one of the biggest events in Hackettstown. Streets fill with enthusiasm as families, residents and visitors line up along the curb, in store windows and porches to celebrate and witness the festive parade.

To inspire the Irish spirit in all of us, the BID will be honoring the 2019 Grand Marshal, Mr. Jim Travis, with a gala reception in town. More information about the reception and ticket reservations will be available on hackettstownbid.com.

The parade will kick off at 3:30 pm with Grand Marshal Jim Travis leading numerous participants including Irish dance groups, Irish bands, community groups, bagpipes, drums, Centenary University clubs and groups, animals, Hackettstown and surrounding area fire departments and rescue squads, as well as hometown favorites Junior and Senior Colonial Musketeers and the Hackettstown Community Band.

This parade is pet-friendly, with a special pet costume contest sponsored by Doggie Styleashes. Pets will be invited to walk the parade as St. Patrick and Irish Heritage costume contestants after judging.

The BID is encouraging floats as part of participation, too. There will be a parade float contest as in past years, in St. Patrick and Irish Heritage theme and open to designers’ creativity. Participants can confirm their floats in their registration form, available on the BID website under Events.

As Parade Week approaches, specials will become available from Hackettstown businesses to offer the community a festive, Irish spirit.

Registration is open for individuals, businesses and other groups to be part of this highly anticipated event. Click here to register
