Wooten Clayworks is a community-oriented center for the ceramic arts. We first launched in 2021, still in the midst of the global pandemic. In response to the social distancing at the time, we began hosting virtual workshops as an initiative to provide and curate quality education and connections within the community, as well as another source of financial stability for centers and artists. The workshops were hosted with notable names like Brad Schwieger, Bill Wilkey, Lisa Orr, and several others. These artists also came together with us to put on virtual markets which raised funds for our Sponsor A Student Campaign, creating fully-funded spots in our workshops for students and artists from underrepresented and under-resourced backgrounds.
In 2023, Wooten Clayworks set down roots in Hackettstown, NJ to open a physical studio location. We host an outstanding gallery with nationally-renowned ceramic artists, available in-person as well as online. In an effort to better educate the community on the ceramic arts, Wooten Claywork hosts studio classes as well. Outfitted with a beautiful wheel area, hand-building area, glaze room, kiln room, and laser cutter room, our studio is fully-equipped to teach a multitude of ceramic processes.
