St Patricks Parade 3-13-22 Participant Information
March 13 @ 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

The Parade Lineup starts at 2:00pm, with a 3:30 pm step-off, please read ALL of the following information and instruct your group accordingly. – We ask that all groups and parade participants report to your line up spot between 2-2:45pm (the very latest 2:45pm). Again, please refer to the two attachments on this email (Parade Line up and Map of Parade Line up).
PARKING and “getting to your spot” – Please follow the map (attached) to where your group will meet. SIDE ROADS WILL BE CLOSED STARTING AT 2PM, so please park where you can. You will not be able to park or drop off at or in the parade line up area. You will need to park and walk-in to your spot.
ARRIVAL: Upon arrival at your lineup area (identified alphabetically by signs), please check in with your Division Captain (they will be wearing a green Parade Staff sweatshirt) to confirm your lineup position. Please follow your Division Captain’s instructions at all times.
INFORMATION TABLE: We will have a parade information table set up on the corner of Grand and Washington Street (by the post office).
CANDY/HANDOUTS: If you plan to hand out candy, we recommend that you bring enough for the entire parade route. Reminder: PLEASE DO NOT THROW ITEMS – please place them in a people’s hands for safety.
SPACING: Please keep your group moving and be mindful of spacing so that we do not have large gaps in the parade. Y
WRNJ ANNOUNCER/PERFORMANCE AREA: Groups are welcome to stop and perform for a brief time at the designated performance area (in front of the red brick Trinity Church), however you are not required to stop. Bands often play their signature piece as they march through.
FLOATS: Judging of floats will take place at 1:00pm in the Train Station Parking lot. – Judging will take place at that time – 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be given out (trophies for 1st and 2nd and a banner for 3rd place). If you have a float, but do not plan on being judged, please be sure to be at your lineup area promptly by 2:30 pm, so that we can have you in the proper position.
PETS/ANIMALS: Any groups that have animals marching with them must have a designated Pooper Scooper.
CARS: Remember to decorate with an Irish flair and show your St Patrick’s spirit. ABSOLUTELY NO ENGINE REVVING OR EXCESSIVE HORN BLOWING!
COSTUMED CHARACTERS: The Hackettstown Police Department needs to know if your group will have any costumed characters with concealed faces. If you have a marcher in full costume and their face is not visible, you must let us know.
FIRE DEPARTMENTS – Your line up will be on Washington Street and Moore – PLEASE line up in the order you see the FIre Departments listed in the Parade Line up. Thank you!
