The Hackettstown BID would like to thank the community for supporting the Candy Cane Lane Light and Santa event this past Saturday. Since we were not able to gather like we usually would for Hometown Holiday, the BID and the Hackettstown Recreation Department joined forces just three short weeks ago to produce the Candy Cane Lane Event. Our goal was to offer a community event that was fun and safe for families to share in some holiday spirit while supporting our GREAT Hackettstown businesses.
When planning this event, we could have never imagined that it would be as popular and well attended as it was. The attendance was more than triple of what was anticipated. To that end, we did not anticipate the volume of cars which created congestion through the town. We thank you for your patience if you were affected by the traffic. We also thank you for your patience if you had waited in line and were not able to drive through. When we produce this event next year, we will definitely be doing some things differently so that these issues do not occur. Since this was our first year, we certainly did not expect the crowd that we had and we absolutely appreciate your support and patience.
We want to THANK the Hackettstown Police Department for navigating the unexpected volume of participants.
On behalf of the Hackettstown BID, we wish you and your family a very Happy Holidays!
