Due to the powerful storm on its way through New Jersey and our wonderful hamlet on Saturday with a 100% chance of rain and high winds we have canceled the Halloween Parade this year. Many merchants will be giving away candy on Halloween Wednesday October 31 Halloween from 3-5pm. The participating merchants will be displaying either Orange or Teal pumpkins posters in their windows indicating that they are giving away either candy (Orange) or other (Teal).

In partnership with Mars Wrigley Confectioners, Hackettstown Police Department, Hackettstown BID and Centenary University’s Greek Counsel, are happy to announce the 5th annual Halloween Parade. This year’s parade will gather on the front lawns of Centenary University’s Seay Building beginning at 2pm.

The parade will feature 4 divisions of varying age brackets, infant -3 years old, 4 – 6 years old &  7 – 10 years old, plus a pet division, the winner from each division will win a $25 BID Buck. Each participant will receive a special wristband for their age division from the Centenary students working at the registration tables these will allow the judges to identify the participants division more clearly. The parade will begin promptly at 3pm and proceed down Moore Street to the gazebo at Main Street. From there the participants are invited to circulate up and down Main Street visiting the various merchants who have either a Orange Pumpkin (giving away candy) displayed on their window, or a teal pumpkin (giving away a non-food item).

A special thanks to Centenary University’s Greek Counsel.
