This week from May 1-7 (or May 2-8) is proclaimed National Small Business Week. Anywhere we look, we see great support, insight and unity in helping small businesses across the country.
A brief history: According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, “every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week,” which highlights the achievements, progress and contributions of American entrepreneurs, small business owners, small business advocates and champions.
As interested community members or small business owners, you can follow the conversation online with a couple hashtags: #DreamSmallBiz and #SBW16 primarily on Twitter, however also check Facebook and Instgram and other favorite social platforms.
There are webinars, speaker series and articles out this week–a lot of great information in various subjects from social media, HR for business, loans and funding, branding and community. Interested? Go look for yourself.
This week is a chance to honor small businesses, over 28 million in fact, and the hard work, time and dedication put in to running shops. Can you count how many there are in Hackettstown?
This week is a chance to start working together with fellow small business owners, supporting successes and helping each other in growing pains or bringing ideas to fruition. The conversation begins perhaps online this week, but let’s keep it going all year.
