The Hackettstown Business Improvement District announced nominations for the 2017 Board of Directors. There are 5 seats available on the Board of Directors and include three (3) two-year terms for property owner, and two (2) two-year terms for business owner/merchant.
Nominations were accepted from Monday, December 12, 2016 until Friday, December 30, 2016, gathered through standard mail and an online submission form. Members could nominate one candidate for each type of director position, and could also nominate themselves as a candidate.
ELECTIONS will be conducted via electronic ballot at the Hackettstown BID office
(219 Main St.) from 9:00am Monday, January 9, 2017 until 5:00pm Friday, January 20, 2017. If you are unable to vote during the above dates, please contact us to make other arrangements. Results will be announced on the BID website, HackettstownBID.com, and WRNJ Radio, Friday January 27, 2017.
Directors will be sworn in during the Hackettstown BID Annual Meeting to be held at Hackettstown Town Hall, February 7, 2017 at 7:00pm.

Prior to opening Real Estate Offices, Debbie was a public school teacher at Warren Hills, Washington. Debbie taught Instrumental Music. Debbie’s students were model students for the Manhattan School of Music Graduate Program.
Debbie resides in Blairstown with her husband John Sayer, a well known mason contractor. Debbie has 2 children. Taylor Evans, age 28 was the head environmental science consultant for the NYC DEP, has advanced to the CDS Pricing Analysis for IHS Markit in New York City. Adison Evans, age 26 is a world class musician. Adison was a professor at Juilliard at the age 26. She has toured the world twice with Beyonce and Jay Z. Adison continues to perform with artist as Wynton Marsalis, Trish Yearwood, Christian McBride, Demi Lovato, Stevie Wonder and many more. Adison’s first album “Hero” has just been named the 14th best Jazz Album for 2016. Debbie takes great pride in her family.
Debbie is dedicated to the revitalization and growth of Hackettstown. Born and raised in Independence township and attended Hackettstown High School.
Prof. Chris Lance, PKE, LLE DBA Strand Studios
My name is Chris Lance and I have been a long time resident and business owner in Hackettstown. As the owner of Paladin Knight Entertainment, LLC I have been involved in the entertainment industry all of my life producing, directing, writing and acting. As a NJ State Certified Music Teacher, I am a substitute teacher at Hackettstown Middle, Hatchery and Willow Grove Schools as well as Mansfield and North Hunterdon-Voorhees School Districts. Holding a Master in Music Technology I own, manage and teach at Strand Studios on Main Street in the old Strand Theater. I have been the music director at Saint Mark’s Church in Long Valley for six years and currently at St. Theodore’s in Port Murray for five. I have also been musical director for some of the plays and concerts at Trinity Methodist Church. I can contribute to the businesses of the BID in the entertainment arena, such as the street fairs, parades, Winterfest, etc. to help bring in more business to the town. Sensitivity and understanding of the needs of the local businesses is at the top of my list and look forward to serving you.

My objective in joining the Hackettstown BID is to bring my 30 years of experience in the field of real estate to furthering the redevelopment of the downtown area. I have been active in the downtown area in regards o redevelopment of the Bergen Tool property and the former Knechel Ford Dealership. I feel Hackettstown has tremendous potential and that the BID can be instrumental in that process.
Monica Lemperle, Enjoy Creperie Property Owner
Monica Lemperle has been a resident of Hackettstown for nearly 20 years. She is an enthusiast of historical preservation, the economic development, growth, and vibrancy of Main Street America. Monica is passionate about the Hackettstown community and is active in several networking groups, volunteering, and local philanthropy. She holds a BA from MaryMount Manhattan College, an MA from City University of NY, is employed by United Way as a lead fundraiser and owns Elegant Favors a boutique gift basket business. Monica looks forward to contributing to Hackettstown as an active member of the BID and sees this as an exciting opportunity to share her fundraising and business skills to benefit the town.
